Bust
Wear an unpadded bra. Measure around the fullest point of the bust. Measure should go under your arms, straight across the back, and then over the bust point. Make sure the measuring tape is parallel to the ground and that the tape fits your body snugly without denting into the skin.
Empire Waist (Close to “Underbust” position)
Measure around the fullest point of your rib cage. Make sure the measuring tape is parallel to the ground and that the tape fits your body snugly. How tight the measure wraps around your rib cage will feel the same as the garment
Hip
Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks. Measure should fit your body slightly loose to allow movement.
Your La Dime bridal gown should be washed in a bathtub or large basin filled with lukewarm water.
Add a few drops of mild detergent or soap to the water, submerge the garment and leave for 20-30 mins. If there is any stain that needs spot cleaning, pre-treat spot with vinegar and rub the area that needs cleaning gently with fingers. Organic soap is recommended (Woolite is also a good option). Strong detergent or bleach should NEVER be applied. When done, run cold water through the garment. Continue this process until the water running through the garment is clear without bubbles.
Air Dry the garment on a clean, dry towel or by hanging it in a well-ventilated space. Your dress can be steamed gently with a professional steamer or stream iron.
For storage, your La Dime bridal gown should be kept in a garment bag in a closed dark place. Direct contact with natural light may cause discoloration. Hanging after a long period of time will cause distortion of fabric due to gravity.
Special design glue has been applied for garments with feather applique details. If you are cleaning a garment with feather applique, please avoid direct contact of water and high heat with those details. If areas around feather applique details need spot cleaning, mix organic soap with water and use soft brushes with mixture to spot clean target areas gently. Brush through the same areas again with clean water and repeat the same process to remove any soap excess. When done, set blow-dryer on low heat to dry the target areas. Do not wet feathers. If feathers absolutely need cleaning, steam with a professional steam iron from a distance. To freshen up feathers, throw in the garment bag some dryer sheets for 1-2 days before storage.
Garments with metal and beaded embellishments are to be treated like jewelry. Please consult with a professional before cleaning them with any chemical or water to prevent discoloration and any chance of damage.
For garments with animal skin(e.g. leather and python), please avoid water contact as much as possible. For minor stains, you may steam the garment and wipe animal skin gently with a dry towel or a damp cloth. Leather is porous so too much water can distort the shape of leather. You are advised to seek service from professionals for cleaning, conditioning, and storage of garments with animal skin. Make sure to use padded clip hangers when hanging animal skin to prevent marking.
